Wolfgang C. R. Mezger

For more than 20 years now, the designer Wolfgang C. R. Mezger has been one of the most inspiring progressive thinkers behind the modern office. He also has considerable experience in lecturing in London, Berlin and Schwäbisch Gmünd. Harmonious concepts and intelligent details are the hallmark of Mezger’s aesthetic philosophy. He finds the answers to complex questions with simple solutions. His feeling for the spirit of the times speaks to the customer as can be seen in projects for Brunner from Germany, Artifort from the Netherlands and Davis from the USA.

Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd
Design of Walter Knoll

Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd founded their award-winning design studio in 1997 after meeting at the Royal College of Art in London. Having studied product and furniture design, the studio was formed with the ambition to deliver objects of beauty, economy and intelligence. The work of PearsonLloyd is characterised by a strong and recognisable aesthetic fused with insight and observation, which deliver unassumingly simple and elegant solutions. Working internationally, the studio has established itself across a wide range of client types and sectors, including aviation, workplace and urban design. The partners’ quest for exposure to new cultures, technologies and problems has led them to design a very broad range of products gaining both commercial and critical acclaim. In 2007 Tom and Luke’s work was recognised when they became Royal Designers for Industry, the highest honour for design in the UK.

“We love the strange, the paradox and the spontaneous.” EOOS develops its talents as a team. The Austrian designers Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann and Harald Gründl actually recognised the special synergy of their talents during their studies at the College of Applied Art in Vienna where they all attended Paolo Piva’s design master class. In 1995, they founded a studio together and since then have constantly developed their own special methodology. In their inspiring office in Vienna city centre, the three intransigent thinkers implement their ideas – for projects all over the world from Milan to Toronto, London to New York, Berlin to Herrenberg. Herrenberg is where the three started their career in 1997 with their fascination for the history of Walter Knoll. The spirit of the founders is more up-to-date today than ever before: designers of life’s events. To date, the team has been awarded more than 130 design prizes including the Compasso d’Oro. Special recognition: the MAK, the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, mounted an individual exhibition on EOOS in 2015 which provided insight into the designers’ work process and showcased their extensive and eclectic work.
